European Renal Best Practice
Ionut Nistor

 

 

Ionut Nistor joined the European Renal Best Practice (ERBP) from august 2011as an ERBP fellow in the Methods team. Ionut is a Nephrologist working at the Nephrology Department, "Gr. T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iasi, Romania. He studied medicine at the University of Medicine “Gr. T. Popa” Iasi, graduating in 2004. In 2011, he started a PhD on the evidence for treatment of diabetic patients with CKD stage 3b/4/5. His research interests also include cardiovascular complication in CKD patients, dialysis and transplant patients.

Ionut has learnt skills in guideline-related literature searching and evidence working with the Cochrane Renal Group (based at the Centre for Kidney Research, Sydney, Australia) as Honorary Research Fellow and he has also recently improved his knowledge in epidemiology completing an Introduction to Clinical Epidemiology course (University of Sydney).

His role within ERBP will be to assist guideline authors to prepare and update the ERBP guidelines. His first ongoing project will deal with evidence-based recommendations for the treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease and diabetes.
